Because there's two parts to every swap, of course: The giving and the receiving. I enjoyed the giving so much I almost forgot about the receiving... That was until this treasure arrived:
The colours are just perfect for me- I love apple green and aqua, together with the yellow they're such happy, sunshine colours. The fabric is a really beautiful, heavy canvas, and the trim and lining co-ordinate so fabulously:
It was filled with beautifully wrapped goodies which I couldn't wait to open- certainly not long enough to take a photograph!
The whole thing is just so wonderful! The only thing is... I don't know who it's from. I know it's from someone called Jenn, so I've tried thanking two Jennifers already, but they weren't the right ones! If it's from you, I'm so sorry not to acknowledge that. Please leave me a comment and I can amend this! Hooray- I finally found my mysterious swap partner, it is Dayben- check out her lovely photographs here.
And if that wasn't enough goodness for one month, Vanessa the fairy princess, sent my girls the most wonderful parcel this week. The contents were so distinctive I think I'd have been able to guess who it was from even without looking at the senders address!
Do you see what I mean?! All that pink, sparkling frothiness! It was full of jewels, ribbons, note books, Fanciful Twist cards, sunglasses, the list goes on... Thank you Vanessa, my girls and I love it so!
While I'm reveling in the glory of all this mail-goodness, you may remember me writing last week that this would be my 100th post and promising some kind of give-away. I want to say thank you for the encouraging, inspiring comments you've left for me. Your support has made such a difference to how I work and has kept me going when I haven't been sure. So, I've been mulling it over and have come up with the following, rather complicated, idea:
I thought maybe you could leave a comment mentioning which is your favourite piece of all the work I've made and blogged about since I started. And then the winner (who's name will be picked out of a hat), will get a version of their favourite thing. Now, it has to be a version because some of the fabrics I may not be able to get again. And, some things took months to make. It's not that I don't love you all, but there has to be a limit; right?!! But say if your favourite thing was the bird quilting, then I could do a smaller version, like maybe a wash bag or book cover or something... I'm not promising to make the same thing over again (I hate making the same thing twice!), but something inspired by the original. Jeez, I'm boring myself now!
Anyway, go ahead, leave a comment; I'm hoping to catch a few lurkers with this, so don't be shy!
(PS you have about a week!)
Well I'm not a lurker! But amazingly I was reading through your blog archive the other day and seeing all the things you had made. But how do I choose which is my favourite? I love your button pictures with the rainbow and I really like the embroidered bird fabric picture you did. But I think what I really like best are your bird pockets on your aprons! I know I am unlikely to win but whoever does will be very very lucky. Lucy x

So, Vanessa called and told me about the package to the girls and how... of course, now I can't remember which one, since she told me yesterday... but how Annie or Eliza put on the flame glasses and was all, "I've wanted these my whole life." I think I might have died a little with happiness!
Lets see, I really like the patchwork piece that was inspired by the painting. The bug pillows are also pretty sweet. Your bird apron turned out lovely. Oh! And the Clanger. I loved her! The Valentines Aprons were so very wonderful. Obviously, I'm having a hard time picking a favorite!

nice swap goodies! How fun. Anyway, I love your aprons best of all--especially the ones that led me to you--the his and hers silhouette stag/deer aprons. Those were the coolest ever, seriously.

Was it supposed to be a secret swap? I hope Jenn(ifer) will be found. She has sent you some lovely goodies.
I love lots of your work, it was fun to wander around your blog again. My favourite are the drawings you made for the aprons, the woving wallpaper and the stitched bugs. It would be lovely yo have a little piece of one of those to put in a frame!

I really liked your red bugs - all the bugs actually and there was a cool knitting bag you made once, and polka-dot hankies that were very cool. I also like the button rainbows. I think my favorite blog entry though was the guest blogger with the wobbly tooth. Congrats on 100!

Oh my! Just lovely! I don't know who sent it, but I am so glad she did. You totally deserve to be spoiled. And that bag is incredible.

Congratulations on your 100th post! You don't have to enter me in the drawing because I already have the most favorite thing that you made -- my fabulous apron with the bird pockets. I smile and think of you everytime I put it on. It made dinner for my book group last night! XOXO!

Lovely, lovely, lovely. The colors do look wonderful together. And isn't Vanessa just a peach, pear, and plum? I started reading your blog when you had that lovely bird drawing that became an apron. I am not an apron wearer - but I do love the drawing. Here is to another 100 posts. And the once a week posting? A page from your book, my dear.

I admidt to being a lurker, but have admired your work for a while. The quilted wall hanging you did was very beautiful, but I liked the simple design of the knitting bag you made even more. Congratulations on your 100th post, I have just started a little blog of my own.

Wow you got some great things in the post this week. Now about this giveaway....hmm it is very hard to decide, you have made some amazing things but as I went back through your archives I'd have to say that flippin' Mama Clanger is just about the cutest thing I've seen in some time. How about an embroidered clanger...that would be a cool version :)

Happy 100th post!
I can't possibly choose a favourite thing of yours. I really like the pink and green things in the post below (especially as I have a stationery obsession) but if I were lucky enough to win your giveaway I would want you to make something that you would have fun making.
Thanks for 100 posts of bloggy goodness, I really enjoy reading it. Your girls are so lucky to have a mum who does such fun and creative things with them.
Keep up the good work!
p.s. am I imagining things or did you make a quilt which was all white with loads of quilting on it? If yes then that it was stunning and if not I must be going mad.
